If there is a cheaper option, I would love to know. Hello, Ive got a 2009 HP Z800 Workstation and Im trying to upgrade the cpu to Xeon X5675 but the PC wont start up after the fitting the cpu and giving 4 seperate beeps with the fans on high speed, the PC work fine again when I put in the old cpu Xeon X5550 Is this a compatibility issue or the bios. Doesn't interfere with performance (as far as I can tell), just a bit annoying. Without this, your pc will beep and you have to hit F1 to continue. HDMI 2.0: Supports video resolution up to 4K at 60 Hz with later versions including HDR capabilities, and has a bandwidth of 18 Gbps. This is the one I have seen for an HP Z800, part number HP 535588-001. The ultimate in power and expandability Combining ultimate performance with a revolutionary new industrial design, the HP Z800 Workstation delivers the extreme speed and massive expandability that you demand to tackle your biggest challenges. I would advise anyone upgrading thier cpu to do both of the same type or just do one for now.ģ) there is a slightly better chip, the x5698. Average price for a used one seems to be around $100 or $190 for a pair. You can find these on Ebay, a lot of times in pairs. Big thanks for the forum users who posted this info, over a few different threads.Ģ) The best CPU I can find for this MB (and assuming you have the better version) is the x5690. The 2nd version of the MB, allows you to use the better cpus. This will determine which cpu you can upgrade to. But before you do, somethings to keep in mind:ġ) From the BIOS menu, check the "boot block" date of the MB. I was able to upgrade to two x5690 chips and it makes a world of difference.
